This 4 night, 5 day visit to Cambodia will explore the ancient temples of Angkor. Angkor Wat is perhaps the best known of these temples, yet it is only one of the many temples made up the capital of the Khmer Empire that endured from the 9th century to the 14th century.

At its peak Angkor housed over a million people and was the largest city in the world. Its 10 most significant kings were considered gods by their subjects and were responsible for the vast array of temples that can be seen today, along with reservoirs, moats and roads. The remaining stone ruins of Angkor still awe visitors today, so majestic and grand was their scale, that 1000 years later they still inspire.

imageThis trip will visit the most significant and interesting temple complexes, including several of the lesser visited but equally interesting ones. There will be sufficient time to explore the city of Siem Reap, a pleasant town with good food, entertainment, shopping as well as providing insight into modern day life in Cambodia.

Our guide will be Pilu, full of knowledge and passion for his country’s history. John Leupold will be along as trip leader and together with these two your Cambodia experience will be a rich and complete one.

The trip begins and ends at Siem Reap. Participants are requested to make their own travel arrangements to Siem Reap airport irootsn Cambodia (airport code: REP), a one hour flight from Bangkok. There are numerous daily flights with Bangkok Airways. The flight is approximately $350 round trip. This can be booked via the Bangkok Airways website. IMPORTANT NOTE: Bangkok Airways will require passengers to show the credit card used to make booking when checking in for flight, so be certain to have this credit card with you to show check in staff.
